Molly Murphy is a professional singer-songwriter based in Nashville, TN. She also is an early education music teacher. 

Molly graduated from the University of Notre Dame, where she was the lead singer of a four piece band called Nickels and Dimes. At Notre Dame, she was one of a select few freshmen in the College of Arts and Letters nominated by professors and chosen as a Dean’s Fellow. She received the 2018 Desalvo Fund Grant, which supported her summer internship goals at Carnival Music, an independent music publishing company which has celebrated 15 number one songs.  

As a Nashville based artist, Molly’s music has garnered thousands of streams and been featured on prominent folk blogs such as For Folk’s Sake and Roots Radio’s Liner Notes. She performs frequently at Nashville’s original music venues as well as in cities including New York, LA, and Chicago. Molly has opened for fellow folk artist Heather Maloney, been selected to both the 2022 and 2023 Tucson Folk Festival, and performed live on WSMV TV’s “Today in Nashville.” 

Molly began the education side of her career at the Overbrook School, where she now teaches her own preschool music program. In addition to her work with the Overbrook School, Molly is a center director and registered teacher with the Music Together® program and teaches at both corporate and private events. She loves spreading the joy of music to young children with a free-spirited and fun approach. 

Molly grew up in Fairfield, CT and is the youngest of three sisters. She enjoys nature, art, and hanging out with her pets.
