12 Sep Music Therapy is a Potential Intervention for Cognition of Alzheimer’s Disease: A Mini-Review
ABSTRACT: A mini literature review demonstrating music therapy’s potential to reduce cognitive decline, improve mood and other neuropsychiatric symptoms, and enhance the quality of life of people with Alzheimer’s disease. Different techniques of music therapy are discussed and considered to be effective interventions in treating Alzheimer’s: listening to music, singing songs, use of background music, music with activities, and multisensory stimulation. The authors stress that more evidences with prospective, randomized, blinded, uniform and rigorous methodological investigations are needed.
